Change. For the past 20 years – the Washington Health Foundation has been calling for it, working toward it and innovating to drive it. Change is at the very core of our organization’s DNA. Today…..we are changing. Not our mission. That will always be to improve health for the people of Washington. The change lies in how we plan to reach that lofty goal.
We are reorganizing our work around a bold new concept that we are calling the “Center for People’s Health.” This ‘Center’ will allow us to continue to serve as a connector of various entities toward better health while focusing more attention on individuals and families, and helping them connect with the disparate parts of a fragmented health system. The Center for People’s Health is the backbone the Foundation’s ten-year strategic platform for pursuing its vision of making Washington the Healthiest State in the Nation. Our core beliefs and our core values will not change and we will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Washington to fight for better health. But that fight comes at a cost and the Washington Health Foundation will require additional resources to pursue this strategy.
We will be unveiling the details of our Center For People’s Health when we announce its Grand Opening in the spring of 2013. More information on this exciting new program is coming soon!
